Winter brings more rain showers and mist which makes for lot's of amazing rainbows. Here's a few we were able to photograph. The first one was fading quick and as we looked to the left the spectacular arch one appeared.

Spotted this young turtle taking a breath and it turned, swam slowly by very close watching me in my snorkel with a camera. Then it turned toward me stopping to stare for a moment before diving deeper. I'll always wonder what it was thinking. Silly human, what a weird looking creature, or maybe wondering what I was thinking. A magic moment under the morning Maui waters.
Woke up to a Rainbow in nearby park, another at Lauinuipoko and later spotted a Hawaiian Monk seal. On the way back to car we saw the Rooster and quickly growing chicks. Another great bunch of surprises. Thanks you Maui!
Keawakapu is a nice beach and good for a quick snorkel. You always see colorful fish and sometimes a turtle. This day a turtle came so close I could have touched it. I thought I saw reflection in the side of my mask and when I turned to look it was another turtle. The two swam along together diving down and curving left and right along the reef in a train with two larger fish behind them. It was a real treat to see. The camera lost power preventing a photo. The photos posted were taken just before the battery died.
Loved Maui since the first time here and now it's home. Been convincing people to experience the magic here for years. This place makes you feel so alive and in awe of the beauty. You can look at the same places everyday and see something new. Also you run into interesting people and share good stories and times unexpectedly. This is something that needs to be shared, so here we are! It won't document everything, but things where getting a photo or having the time to write it down is possible will be posted here. Aloha and Mahalo from Maui.
