Driving on Hana hwy it's only natural to look all around. On the way back from Haiku after going through the curve in Sprecklesville a look to the left and you see Haleakala. There are often clouds, sometimes rainbows and occasionally it is clear especially in the late afternoon. The trade winds usually squash the clouds into the side of the mountain. This day the top was clear with some swirling clouds above and a line of darker ones about a third of the way down. Another magic visual surprise that reminds you it pays to look around and how lucky we are to be on Maui.
The underwater world of Maui is a whole new magical feast for the eyes. You never know what you will see - something unique every time. A week ago Saturday was an amazing encounter with sea turtles. While snorkeling along a turtle came up and looked at us with a funny expression. As we continued more turtles were cruising, floating and resting on the bottom. Watching them glide and pop up for air or when they sneak up on you is awesome. This particular day there were at least five different turtles during the trip out and more sightings on the way back. It was an epic turtle Saturday!
Loved Maui since the first time here and now it's home. Been convincing people to experience the magic here for years. This place makes you feel so alive and in awe of the beauty. You can look at the same places everyday and see something new. Also you run into interesting people and share good stories and times unexpectedly. This is something that needs to be shared, so here we are! It won't document everything, but things where getting a photo or having the time to write it down is possible will be posted here. Aloha and Mahalo from Maui.
